The New Series...
Ok, so I was at school one day. I was in the library with my class for open check out. I had a new reading level and couldn't find any books that looked like I wanted. I only had 2 minutes left. Then all of a sudden, my friend, Carmen, takes me to a shelf with tons of books and said, " I started this series and I think you will like them." So I checked out the first one and I really liked it. The series I am now reading is called The Series of Unfortunate Events. I am really enjoying them. I am now on the third book. On this post I am going to tell you about the first one, The Bad Beginning (not in a five finger retail...)
The 1st book was great! I recommended theses books kids in the 4th grade and up. They are scary, but really fun to read. In the 1st book they're playing on the beach and they get bad news saying that their mom and dad died in a fire at their house, and that's when it all started. They went to a relatives house named Count Olaf. His house was filled with eyes. He made them sleep al in one room and when they woke up they had a list of about 100 chores to do. Well, one day he put one chore on the back and it said make dinner for my guests and me. They had no clue how to cook. So they went next door to their neighbors house. She had a library so they thought they could find a book on cooking. They finally found a book on cooking. They made this pasta, when he wanted roast beef. He never told them to make roast beef. Then Count Olaf picked up the youngest child, Sunny. Violet, the oldest said, " Put her down, she's only an infant!"
The middle child, Klaus, said, " You're the meanest man ever!!!" Then out of no where Count Olaf strikes Klaus across the face. Later on, Count Olaf said he was sorry but didn't really mean it. Then he asked them if they wanted to be in his play. They said, "Sure." The play was going to be a wedding. Violet was the bride. He made it a real wedding so he could get hold of the children's
fortune. When everybody found that out he got in trouble big time but didn't go to jail. But that wasn't the end of the children. Catch up on my next post about the second one!!!
